When should i put on my winter tires?

You should put your winter tires on once the weather consistently drops below 7 degrees celsius.

what should I carry in my car during the the winter season?

During the winter season, we recommend that you carry a snow brush, jumper cables, a flashlight and a blanket in case of an emergency situation.

WINTER TIPS

SLOW DOWN -

Slippery roads reduce the amount of traction your tires have and these conditions make your vehicle harder to control. Slow down to give yourself plenty of time to react to hazards and unexpected road conditions.

Increase your following distance -

During the winter season, Allow plenty of space between your vehicle and other vehicle’s. It takes 4-10 times more distance for your car to stop on ice and snow than on dry pavement.

know the roads -

Hazardous road conditions such as Ice forms more quickly in places such as bridges, intersections, overpasses and hills. By identifying these potentially hazardous slippery areas, you can slow down and reduce your speed accordingly when approaching them.

leave early -

Rushing and Speeding during the winter season may be dangerous. Allow plenty of time to get to your destination safely.

be prepared for anything -

During the winter months, we recommend that you pack essential emergency items such as jumper cables, snow brush, blankets and flashlights in your vehicle in case of emergencies. It is also a good idea yo have somebody to contact in case you need help.
